Armed Robber Targets Hair Salon

 BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- (Tuesday 12th December, 2017)- A hair salon owner was robbed at her business place along with another individual while a third person was injured after a recent armed robbery at Durant Avenue in Basseterre.

Police have reported today (Tuesday) that preliminary inquiries in the incident, which took place on Friday 8th December, have revealed that at about 11:30 PM, an armed masked man entered a hair salon located on Durant Avenue and robbed the hairdresser, Rosa Foe, of her pink purse and a sum of money.

This media house understands that Foe, a resident of St.Kitts, originally hails from the Spanish country of the Dominican Republic which is the eastern region of the island Hispaniola.

Reportedly, two other persons- Ruben Ozuna and Andrew Pane-were also present at the time of the incident.

Ozuna, was robbed of several pieces of identification and a sum of money while Pane suffered injuries to his face after he was struck by the armed assailant.

As gathered both men are also members of the residential Spanish-speaking community.

Investigations into the armed robbery incident continue.

Police are encouraging persons with information related to this incident, or any others, to contact the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 or their nearest police station.

The police is giving assurance to the public that foot and mobile patrols are continuing and will be increased during the season.
