No one ever heard Team Unity speak of crime and violence in that fashion. Now it seems as if what Team Unity is saying is: Crime and Violence took twenty (20) years to develop into the state into which it is now in. Therefore, we the members of Team Unity, need a time-frame of twenty (20) years to bring down crime and violence to its former state of some twenty (20) years ago. Team Unity is suffering from political amnesia. Team Unity seems to be begging for a 20-year period in which to tackle and bring down the current growing level of crime and violence.
Team Unity in opposition went about the countryside promising the people that when Team Unity forms the next government, there will be good governance as Team Unity is committed to transparency, openness, accountability and justice and fairness for all.
Team Unity promised that as the next government there would be no corruption, favouritism, nepotism, cronyism, discrimination and victimisation. Team Unity also promised to do what the Douglas Administration is unable to do and that is to reduce the high level of crime and violence in our nation.
Team Unity went about making promises to the people; promises which Team Unity has not kept. Team Unity knew from day one that it could not deliver on the promises but made them anyway in a callous, selfish, ravenous and hypocritical fashion in order to trick the populace into voting against Dr. Douglas and his Labour Party government.
The members of Team Unity made no plans as an opposition group concerning how to fight the demon of high levels of crime and violence and so they entered into government without a clue as to how to deal with the matter.
All they could do therefore, was to blame Dr. Douglas, chat a lot of stupidness about “heritage” and say that they inherited a “heritage” that took twenty (20) years or so to develop.
All that Team Unity did while in opposition was tell lies, curse and blame Dr. Douglas and the Labour Party. The Team made no plans to develop the country socially, politically, economically and financially. Team Unity is clueless and devoid of any rational, progressive and feasible plan or idea as to how to develop the country.
Nobody knows where our country is heading. May the good Lord save us all.
