Coming out of the recently held 50th annual convention of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge has been elected as the new leader, and is the first female to hold that post as she is also the head of a political organization founded by her late father as its first leader who was the first Premier of Nevis, Sir Dr. Simeon Daniel- a National Hero.
Leader of the opposition St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Dr. Denzil Douglas has rated the party’s recently held Constitutional Conference a success.
Clinical psychologist, social scientist and political influencer to the People’s Labour Party, Dr. Sharon-Ann Gopaul-McNicol is on the record making public statements supporting Prime Minister Harris Dr. Harris as the leader of the Team Unity coalition without party term limits as she addressed the misconception that taking turns at leadership is good for the three-party alliance.

Dr. Geoffrey Hanley continues to push back against criticisms of money mishandling of the former People Employment Programme (PEP), saying “there were no forms of corruption” during his term as manager.
Come next week, voters of District 5 (St.Thomas’) in Nevis are expected to go to the polls in a by-election to choose either newcomer Cleone Stapleton- Simmonds of the opposition Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) running on a parish stronghold ticket or now four-times runner Keith ‘Dis an Dat’ Scarborough of the incumbent Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) as their parliamentary representative.
“The government itself has confidence in its membership, and until there is evidence otherwise, there is no need for concern.”
Following yesterday’s (Thursday) adjourned matter on the case at the High Court preside over by Justice Trevor Warde QC, Dr. Douglas was overheard in a conversation with Byron saying to him: “Ask Simmonds how I treated him” in referring to the courtesy extended to the former Prime Minister Sir Kennedy Simmonds of the former PAM Administration by his Labour Party government.
